Our cushions are built for durability, featuring a rugged polypropylene mesh backing where applicable, that provides added strength and long-lasting stability. Every product, including our high-back cushions, are crafted using our exclusive cold-cure molding process.

Our cushions where applicable incorporate internally molded wire contour mat reinforcements, just like the originals. These wire assemblies are produced using the final remaining GM production machine of its kind—now proudly owned and operated by American Cushion Products!

In the 1960s and ’70s, seating was engineered—not simplified. The Young Flex-o-lator Division embedded a wire support system—molded directly into foam—replacing traditional springs, delivering even support, natural movement, and lasting shape.

The result: not just soft, but supportive, controlled, and durable.

All other reproductions skip this structure, losing the original feel.

American Cushion Products preserves it—still producing seat foam with the original embedded wire methodology, using the last remaining original machine to manufacture the Kontour-Mat system of molded seat foam construction.
